Wide applications of seamless steel pipes

The  steel pipe  made of a whole piece of metal without joints on the surface is called Seamless Steel Pipe. According to the production method, seamless tubes are divided into hot rolled tubes, cold rolled tubes, cold drawn tubes, extruded tubes, pipe jacking, etc. According to the section shape, seamless steel pipes can be divided into circular and special-shaped pipes. The special-shaped pipes can be square, elliptical, triangular, hexagonal, melon seed shaped, star shaped and finned pipes. The maximum diameter is 650 mm and the minimum diameter is 0.3 mm. According to different uses, there are thick wall tubes and thin wall tubes. Seamless  steel pipes  are mainly used as drilling pipes for petroleum geology, cracking pipes for petrochemical industry, boiler pipes, bearing pipes and high-precision structural steel pipes for automobiles, tractors and aviation.

Seamless steel pipes can be divided into thick wall seamless steel pipes and thin wall seamless steel pipes according to different purposes.

Seamless steel pipes are widely used.

1. Seamless steel pipes for general purposes are rolled from ordinary carbon structural steel, low alloy structural steel or alloy structural steel according to the material. For example, the seamless pipes made of low carbon steel such as No. 10 and No. 20 are mainly used as transmission pipelines for steam, gas, liquefied gas, natural gas, various petroleum products and various other gases or liquids; 45, 40Cr and other medium carbon steel seamless pipes are mainly used to manufacture various machine fittings and pipe fittings.

2.Seamless steel pipes for general purposes are also supplied by chemical composition and mechanical properties, and by hydrostatic test. Seamless steel pipes subject to fluid pressure shall be qualified in hydrostatic test.

3.Seamless tubes for special purposes are used in boilers, geological exploration, bearings, acid resistance, etc. Such as petroleum geological drilling pipes, cracking pipes for petrochemical industry, boiler pipes, bearing pipes, and high-precision structural steel pipes for automobiles, tractors, and aviation.
